Escape to the Lakes: Jess's HIFE Retreat Returns to Grasmere

Escape to the Lakes: Jess's HIFE Retreat Returns to Grasmere

19th – 22nd May 2026 | The Grand at Grasmere

There's something about the Lake District that slows everything down.

The air feels clearer. The views stretch further. And somehow, after a day on the fells with nothing but birdsong and your own thoughts, everything else in life feels a little lighter.

This May, we're welcoming Jessica Lambert and her HIFE Retreats back to The Grand at Grasmere for a three-day escape built around the simple idea that you don't need to go far to feel completely different. You just need the right place, the right guide, and a few days away from ordinary life.

From 19th to 22nd May 2026, our boutique hotel in the heart of the Lake District becomes the base for a small group retreat blending movement, nature, nourishing food and the rare luxury of unscheduled time.

If You Know Jess from Lytham, You Already Know What to Expect

Jessica runs her popular yoga and Pilates studio from our sister hotel, The Grand in Lytham St Annes, where she has built a loyal following of guests and members who come back week after week.

Her teaching style is calm, encouraging and genuinely accessible. No performance. No pressure. Just movement that meets you where you are.

The Grasmere retreat takes everything that works so well in the studio and moves it somewhere extraordinary. Same teacher, same philosophy, completely different backdrop.

If you've been meaning to join one of Jess's Lytham classes but haven't made it yet, this is actually the perfect place to start. A few days away has a way of removing all the usual excuses.

The Studio & Hife Retreats Come To The Grand At Grasmere

What the Retreat Looks Like

Each day begins gently, with a morning Pilates session to awaken the body and settle the mind before heading out into the surrounding fells for a guided walk through some of the most beautiful landscapes in England.

Grasmere is one of those rare places where the outdoors starts right at your doorstep. No long drives, no pre-dawn alarms, no rushing around. Step outside the hotel and the fells are there waiting.

After a day exploring, evenings slow things down again with yoga sessions designed to stretch tired legs and quiet whatever's still running through your head. It's a rhythm that works. Movement, fresh air, rest. Repeat.

This isn't a bootcamp and it isn't a spa day. It's the balance between the two that most of us actually need and rarely find.

Cold Water, Proper Food and Time to Just Be

Retreats shouldn't feel restrictive. They should feel nourishing.

Between sessions and walks, there's space to make the retreat your own. Cold water dips in the lake for the brave. A quiet coffee in the garden for anyone who decides bravery is overrated. Or simply sitting somewhere with a view that reminds you how big the world actually is.

Food is a proper part of the experience. Relaxed brunches after morning sessions and three-course dinners each evening, all prepared by our kitchen using the same locally sourced ingredients we serve every day in the restaurant. After a day outdoors, good food tastes even better.

Afternoon Walks Around The Lake

New to Yoga? Good.

One of the things guests consistently say about Jess's retreats is how welcomed they felt as beginners.

The small group format means Jess can give real attention to every person in the room. Sessions are adapted to the group, not the other way around. You can push yourself or ease yourself in. Both are completely fine.

What people often find is that by the final morning, they're doing things they didn't think they could do on the first. That tends to happen when there's no audience and no judgement. Just a good teacher and a bit of time.

Why the Lake District Changes Things

There's a reason people have been coming to the Lakes to clear their heads for centuries. Wordsworth wrote about it. Turner painted it. Generations of walkers and writers have returned to it whenever the rest of life got too loud.

The Grand at Grasmere sits right in the middle of it all, between the village and the lake, with the fells rising up on every side. It's the kind of setting that does some of the retreat's work for you, before you've even unrolled your mat.

For anyone based further south, particularly if you've visited us in Lytham St Annes before, a few days up here is a genuinely different experience. The scale of the landscape. The quiet. The way the light changes over the water. It gets under your skin in the best possible way.

Availability Is Limited

The last Grasmere retreat sold out, and early interest in May 2026 has already been strong. The group is intentionally kept small, which is exactly what makes it work, but it does mean spaces go quickly.

If three days of morning movement, fell walking, lake swims and proper evening meals sounds like the reset your year needs, it's worth taking a look sooner rather than later.

Retreat dates: 19th – 22nd May 2026

A Note from Us

We love collaborations like this one.

Jess's studio in Lytham St Annes brings wellbeing into everyday life for our guests and members there. Bringing that same spirit to the Lake District adds something we couldn't create on our own. A proper sense of place. A reason to slow down. A reason to stay.

If you'd like to know more about staying at The Grand at Grasmere around the retreat, or if you're curious about future events at either hotel, you can explore what's on at www.grandatgrasmere.co.uk or follow us on social to be first to hear about what's coming next.
